Police Hunt One Tangerang Orphanage Management Fugitive Case

JAKARTA - Two people have been named as suspects in cases of alleged sexual harassment or sexual abuse that occurred in an orphanage in Tangerang. Police are still hunting down one other person who is also an orphanage administrator.

"Another suspect who is also a administrator has been designated as a DPO," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Monday, October 7.

The fugitive with the initials YS, one of the administrators at the orphanage.

In handling this case, the Tangerang Metro Police is said to be collaborating with various relevant stakeholders. This legal process received assistance from the Sub-Directorate of Renakta Polda Metro Jaya and the Directorate of PPA Bareskrim Polri.

"Brother YS is being chased by the Tangerang City Metro Police," he said.

Meanwhile, the other two suspects with the initials S and YB have been detained.

S is the owner of the orphanage. Meanwhile, YB is the administrator.

"Two people have been named suspects and detained," said Ade.

Both were charged with Article 76E in conjunction with Article 82 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Perppu Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection.

The suspect faces a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years.
