Senator from Bengkulu, Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin was officially elected as Chairman of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) for the 2024-2029 period, after defeating incumbent AA La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti.
The election for the Chairperson of the DPD RI which began Tuesday, October 1 at 19.30 WIB and ended Wednesday, October 2 at 01.52 in the morning, was attended by 151 members of the DPD RI and held at the Nusantara V Building, Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta.
