JAKARTA - A total of 5,614 joint personnel were assigned to maintain the safety of the inauguration of members of the DPR RI for the 2024-2029 period on Tuesday, September 1, at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

"In order to maintain security during the inauguration of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2024-2029 period tomorrow, we will deploy 5,614 joint personnel," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro last Monday.

The joint personnel assigned came from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, TNI, Pemda DKI, plus a number of related agencies. These personnel are placed at a number of points around the parliament building.

In addition, security is also carried out by preparing a number of personnel to provide security and prevent mass action from entering the parliamentary complex.

Susatyo explained that the Police focused their guard at the entrance to the DPR RI Building at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

"We focus so that the core event is not disturbed, starting from the arrival of officials, speeches, to the end of the inauguration ceremony. We make sure that the route is sterile from Semanggi to the main door of the DPR RI," said Susatyo.

Meanwhile, the closure or diversion of traffic flow around the DPR RI and several other locations are situational. Traffic flow engineering will be implemented to see the dynamics of the situation on the ground.

Susatyo said that none of the personnel involved in the security were carrying weapons and still respected if there was an action crowd who would express their opinion.

Prior to the inauguration of the elected DPR RI members in the 2024 General Election, the DPR RI first held the last Plenary Session of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period on September 30.

The last Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI, among others, will schedule a discussion of reports from the council's equipment in the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 term.
