4 Teenage Student Gangsters In Bengkalis Riau Arrested

The Bengkalis Resort Police, Riau, arrested four perpetrators of the beating of students in Parit 1 Apiapi Village, Bandar Laksamana District.

"MSF (16), FMN (13), MSR (13) and MHS (15) have been arrested and the four are underage and have the status of dropping out of school," said Head of the Bengkalis Police Women and Children Service Unit (PPA), Aipda Andri, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 26.

The examination of the four alleged perpetrators has been carried out since being arrested on Wednesday (25/9). The police also involved the Technical Implementation Unit of the Bengkalis PPA Service and psychologists in order to provide input and responses regarding the cases currently being handled.

"This case is still being processed according to applicable regulations in order to deter the perpetrators and others from committing violence like this. Although in the law, the protection of the perpetrator's child cannot be snared because it is a minor," he said.

Before being taken to the Bengkalis Police, these four suspects had already been secured by the Bukit Batu Sector Police after receiving a report from the victim. Members immediately went to the location but at that time the perpetrator had not been found.

"We firmly ask the parents of the perpetrators to immediately hand over the perpetrators to the police and the next day the perpetrators will be escorted by their parents to the Police Headquarters," said Bukit Batu Police Chief Kompol Rifendi.
