Police Name 15 Suspects From Finding Bodies In Bekasi River

JAKARTA - The police have named 15 suspects from the discovery of the body in the Bekasi River, precisely behind the Al Ikhlas Mosque, Pondok Gede Permai Housing, RT004/RW008, Jatirasa, Jatiasih, Bekasi City.

"A total of 15 people have been named as suspects and three of them are for carrying sharp weapons," said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Pol Karyoto to reporters in Kali Bekasi, Bekasi City, West Java, Sunday.

Karyoto said that until now his party had asked for information from witnesses and people who were really involved in this incident. Regarding the discovery of sharp weapons, the police are still investigating whether the item really exists so that if it is found it can continue to the case stage.

"If he is ready to fight, he will definitely bring a tool," he said.

Nevertheless, he emphasized, until now his party has not been able to conclude regarding the incident, because it is gathering various informations. One of the informations highlighted was that this group had indeed thrown itself into the river, for fear of police patrols.

"I said patrols are not wrong, because this patrol is indeed at 03.00 WIB. If normal people are in such conditions, of course they are resting," he said.

Karyoto also admitted that he was concerned about the incident. In the future, Polda Metro Jaya will involve Propam Police Headquarters and Kompolnas.

Previously, residents found seven bodies floating in Bekasi River, to be precise behind the Al Ikhlas Mosque, Pondok Gede Permai Housing, RT004/RW008, Jatirasa, Jatiasih, Bekasi City on Sunday morning at 06.00 WIB and reported at 07.00 WIB.

The police said the discovery of the seven bodies was allegedly due to a brawl. Moreover, at that time the police were on patrol to prevent the incident.
