Investigate Corruption Of The Agricultural Quarantine Agency, KPK Summons NasDem Politician Who Becomes SYL Staff

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned special staff Syahrul Yasin Limpo while serving as Minister of Agriculture who is also a cadre of the NasDem Party, Joice Triatman today, Friday, September 20.

He was questioned as a witness to alleged corruption in the procurement of X-rays at the Agricultural Quarantine Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

"The examination at the Red and White KPK building is in the name of JT as an entrepreneur or special staff of the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Friday, September 20.

Tessa has not detailed about this examination. JT was only asked to fulfill the summons. "KPK has scheduled witness examinations," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of static x-rays, mobile x-rays, and x-ray trailers or containers at the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural Quarantine Agency (Kementan). A total of six people have been prevented from leaving the country, namely WH, IP, MB, SUD, CS and RF.

One of the six people is the former Secretary of the Quarantine Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture Wisnu Haryana. This prevention was requested by the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights based on Decree Number 1064 of 2024 and valid for six months.

The KPK said that the state losses due to this procurement allegedly reached Rp82 billion. However, the exact number could change because the auditors are still calculating for sure.
