Not Only RK, Rano Karno Also Targets Winning The Jakarta Pilkada One Round

JAKARTA - The candidate for Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno responded to the statement of the future governor candidate for his competitor, Ridwan Kamil, who is targeting to win the Jakarta Pilkada in one round.

Provisions, one round of regional elections can be done if one of the candidate pairs can get more than 50 percent of the votes in an area that holds elections with more than two pairs of candidates.

Not only RK, Rano also admitted that he and the prospective governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung also targeted to win the 2024 Pilkada one round.

"Surely we are all trying to win one round," said Rano at Waroeng Bang Doel, Lebak Bulus, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 17.

Voting day will be held on September 27. If the regional elections in Jakarta are only held in one round, the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta is expected to take place at the end of January 2025.

Meanwhile, according to Rano, if no candidate pair gets more than 50 percent of the votes and the second round is carried out, the inauguration of the elected Jakarta Governors will be delayed longer. Not to mention, logistics costs and voting will increase.

"For example, if there are two rounds, the minimum time is a month, we will do it a long time," said Rano.

"Hopefully in this simultaneous regional election, if possible all rounds. So that the energy does not run out, the state budget is also not sucked in. So, we focus on providing services to the community. So, all of us will try to win one round," said Rano.

Previously, the pair of candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) targeted to win one round in the Jakarta Pilkada on November 27, 2024.

"The target must win one round. Calculated are the areas where there will be more activities, then basically all parties, the DPRD members must move," said Ridwan Kamil (RK) after attending the Coalition Party Gathering event in Plataran City Forest, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, September 17.

According to him, half the strength of the RIDO pair is in the legislative members who have been elected. These legislative members were asked to go back to the constituents and campaign for the vision and mission of the RIDO pair.

"Our target is one round and the win must win, don't win thinly, something like that. Because (this victory) represents the dignity of the coalition," said the former Governor of West Java.

To be able to win the Jakarta Pilkada one round, the winning team will move based on data. "What we are strong is to strengthen, we will increase the existence of many couples," he continued.
