Based on his LinkedIn profile, he owns a warehouse construction company called Camp Box Honolulu. He also graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1998.

Records from the North Carolina Penitentiary Department show that Routh has a criminal history. In the 1990s, he was involved in a case of writing false checks and was charged with possessing a mass destruction weapon in 2002. In addition, he was also charged with minor offenses, hit-and-runs, and rejection of arrests.

The North Carolina State General Election Council also revealed that Routh was a Democratic Party supporter and voted directly in the 2024 preliminary elections in North Carolina.

According to a report from The Independent on Monday (16/9/2024), the perpetrators used an AK-47 assault rifle directed through the bushes at the Trump National Golf Club from a distance of about 275 to 455 meters.

After firing at least four bullets, the man left his gun along with two backpacks, binoculars, and a GoPro video camera.

In a press conference, West Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that Secret Service agents opened fire on the perpetrator after seeing the handle of the gun behind the fence.

However, the perpetrator had fled in a black Nissan car. Thanks to a witness who managed to shoot the car and the number plate, the perpetrator was finally arrested.

President Joe BIden responded to the attempted murder of Donald Trump. Biden praised the swift move of the Secret Service. He has also explicitly banned any political violence and other violence in the US.

"I have been informed by my team of what is being investigated by federal law enforcement regarding the assassination attempt of former President Trump today," Biden wrote in a statement posted on the @Potus Instagram account.

US Vice President Kamala Harris also opened her voice in response to the shocking incident. The US Democratic presidential candidate condemned the attempted murder of Trump. He also stated that violence has no permanent in his country.

"I have been informed of reports of shootings near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am happy he is safe," he said.
