Flood Disaster In Austria Swallows Three Casualties

JAKARTA - The flood that hit Austria State Hilir in Austria, claimed at least three lives, local media reported on Monday citing the police.

A firefighter died on Sunday (15/9) during a rescue operation in the village of Rust im Tullnerfeld. Meanwhile, two other people were also killed on Monday as floods submerged their homes in the rural areas ofHobersdorf and Untergraphendorf, broadcaster ORF reported.

"The two victims are men aged 70 and 80 years," he said.

After the heat wave from late August to early September which reached temperatures of more than 30 degrees Celsius, Austria is now facing heavy rains and a significant drop in temperature, causing flooding in many areas.

Meteorologists explain that Mariazell City in Styria experienced its first snowfall in September, just days after setting a record heat. Meanwhile, rain is expected to continue to pour and the situation is critical, especially in Austria Downstream.
