Trigana Air Plane Slipped In Serui Papua, 42 Passengers Selamat

SENTANI - The Trigana PK YSP ATR 42-500 aircraft skidded at Kamap Serui Airport, Papua and 42 passengers survived.

The number of passengers is 41 people plus one baby, bringing the total number of passengers on the Trigana plane who had an accident to 42 people with a crew of six, namely Captain Khoiron Sarwan, Co-Pilot Lingga C Burnama, FA 1 Nadya Ulfa, FA 2 Leddya, Engineer, Sarto, FOO Nurrohman.

Deputy Area Manager Trigana Air Irwan Rochendi confirmed the slip of one of the Trigana PK airlines YSP ATR 42-500 at Kamap Serui Airport on Monday (9/9) 2024 at 08.35 WIT.

"In that incident 42 passengers and added six crew members survived or there were no casualties," said Irwan, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 9.

Meanwhile, Director of Safety, Securty and Quality (SSQ) Capt Lalu Yuniza said that so far there have been no reports regarding the cause of the plane's slipping or the aborted takeoff runway.

"We are still waiting for information from the pilot what is the real cause so that the plane can slip," he said.

According to him, communication with Serui Airport and flight crew is rather difficult so detailed information about the cause of the accident cannot be obtained.

"While the plane is positioned outside the airport area slipping from the runway on the left towards the south about 20 meters," he said.

He explained that the current condition of the aircraft was heavily damaged with total cargo or baggage when it wanted to fly 270 kilograms and a BF of 2,000 kilograms.

"We are grateful that this incident there were no casualties, even though the loss was large because the plane was badly damaged," he said.

He added that his party had not been informed whether there were state and regional officials or not.

"We do not yet have information whether the 42 passengers are in the Acting Regent of the Yapen Islands (Suzana Wanggai) and the Wife of the Acting Governor of Papua or not, are still communicating with the Kamap Serui crew and airport," he said.

Trigana Air in Papua has seven aircraft that are in good condition, including one plane that currently has an accident.
