TNI-Polri Neutral, Figure Of Cawagub Will Determine Winner Of The 2024 Central Java Gubernatorial Election

Political observer Hendri Satrio assessed that the candidate figure for deputy governor has the potential to determine the winner of the 2024 Central Java gubernatorial election if the police and the TNI are able to be neutral.

According to him, the presence of Hendrar Prihadi (Hendi) on the side of Andika Perkasa and Taj Yasin Maimoen, who was paired with Ahmad Luthfi, made the weights of the two candidates in a draw. This is because the two figures have their own support base in Central Java.

"Hendi is a former Mayor of Semarang, while Gus Yasin, Deputy Governor of Central Java, incumbent and in the Pilleg yesterday also ran as candidates for DPD members. Of course both of them already have a mass base in Central Java which can determine victory in the Central Java gubernatorial election," said Hensat, Sunday, September 8, 2024.

However, the factors of the two cawagub figures will be felt decisive when two institutions with great strength, namely the TNI and Polri, are able to act neutral in order to prevent tensions in the Central Java region.

The reason, said Hensat, is that these two institutions will certainly have their own sympathizers which will later affect the vote acquisition of Ahmad Luthfi and Andika Perkasa. Therefore, the Police and the TNI in Central Java are expected to be wise so that tensions and conflicts do not arise in the community.

"Theoriya Polri dan TNI memang neutral dan tidak berpolitik praktik. Tapi tidak ada salahnya jika kita juga harus waspada adanya pergesaian antara kedua elemen keamanan ini," imbuhnya.

The founder of the KedaiKOPI survey institute also stated that Andika Perkasa and PDI Perjuangan would try their best to win the 2024 Central Java gubernatorial election, after being 'embarrated' in the presidential election last February.

"Central Java will be fierce, because the PDI-P will spend all its energy to win. On the other hand, Ahmad Luthfi and his fat coalition will also fight as much as possible," concluded Hensat.
