KPK Surati Director General Of Immigration, Bans 3 People Suspected Of Having An Important Role In The Corruption Of COVID-19 Goods In West Bandung

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent three unnamed people abroad.

The three of them are thought to have played an important role in the alleged corruption in the procurement of emergency response goods for COVID-19 in West Bandung, which is currently being investigated by the anti-graft commission.

"The KPK has sent a letter to the Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration Kumham to prohibit going abroad for the next six months starting from February 26, 2021 against three people who have an important role," said Acting KPK spokesman for the field of prosecution Ali Fikri in his written statement, Monday, March 29.

Prevention abroad, he said, was carried out in an effort to investigate these acts of origin. The goal is so that when necessary, the party will not be summoned and examined abroad.

"So that they can be cooperative in attending to meet the summons of KPK investigators," he said

Although it has not yet named anyone who was prevented from leaving the country, however, the KPK ensures that it will convey the details of the case and the parties designated as suspects. Of course, this will be done simultaneously with the forced detention of the suspects in question.

Previously reported, the KPK was investigating the alleged corruption case at the West Bandung Social Service. This investigation was carried out in relation to allegations of corruption in the procurement of emergency response goods for the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in 2020.

However, the KPK has not publicly provided a complete description of this case as well as the party designated as a suspect. Because, according to the provisions during the leadership of Firli Bahuri, cs, the announcement of the suspect will be made when KPK investigators have made attempts to force the arrest or detention of the suspect.

In addition, the suspect's announcement and case construction have not been announced because investigators are still completing their work.
