JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo arrived at the Gelora Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, Thursday afternoon to meet with Pope Francis before the Mass Akbar event. President Jokowi arrived at door 11 GBK at around 15:51 WIB by riding a Toyota Innova Zenix with the Indonesian police number 1. Jokowi was seen wearing a brown batik shirt. Reporting from Antara, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno. Jokowi was welcomed by the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Panjaitan also appeared. World Catholic leader Pope Francis will hold a Grand Mass at the Main Stadium and Gelora Bung Karno Intermediate Stadium, Jakarta, Thursday. Pope Francis traveled avatoly to Asia Pacific on September 3–11, 2024. There are four countries visited, namely Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, and Singapore.

Indonesia became the first country visited from September 3 to 6, 2024 and Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia was the third time after Pope Paul VI in 1970 and Pope John Paul II's visit in 1989.
