JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung's candidate will ensure that he will resign from his position as Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) this month.

Pramono said that he would resign in line with the determination of the pair of regional head candidates by the General Elections Commission (KPU) which took place on September 22.

"There is (planned to resign), for sure. Anyway, I will announce it in time. It must be this month," said Pramono at the MH Thamrin Museum, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 3.

Pramono's deputy governor-in-chief candidate, Rano Karno, agrees with the plan. According to Rano, he and Pramono will focus on undergoing the 2024 Pilkada campaign, so that the option to resign from President Jokowi's cabinet is chosen by Pramono.

"The problem is that you can't anymore, it must (resign) this month, next month the campaign will start," said Rano.

Prior to the determination of the candidates, Pramono and Rano had been active in meeting residents and community leaders. One of them, Pramono held a meeting with a number of residents to "send" the problem on Monday, September 2.

For the time being, Pramono has continued to work as usual as Cabinet Secretary before meeting residents.

"Today I am working normally, you know. Until half past two. This is also back again. After this, I changed my clothes in the car," said Pramono after meeting residents on Jalan Cemara, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 2.

Pramono emphasized that his job as Jokowi's minister was not disturbed even though he also took the time to meet the community. As long as there is no problem with his duties in the cabinet, Pramono feels there is no need to apply for permission or leave to Jokowi.

"How come, we are at the ministerial level, we have to be like elementary school children, (permit) one by one. No. I will continue to work. It's not reduced. I can be asked by my staff, whether something is not finished. It must be finished. Last night, Sunday I was working (work) until half 12 nights. Right, there is no need for stories," he explained.
