JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan's spokesman, Sahrin Hamid, said there was no problem between the former governor of Jakarta and the PDIP. It is known that PDIP was rumored that it would pair Anies with Rano Karno in the Jakarta and Ono gubernatorial elections in West Java (West Java).

On the last day of registration, last Thursday, August 29, Anies or commonly called "Abah" was also rumored to be promoted to the West Java 2024 Pilgub paired with the Chairman of the West Java PDIP DPD, Ono Surono.

"We and PDIP have a very good relationship. Mas Anies' communication with PDIP is very deep. The intensity of meeting is also frequent, discussing many things, discussing the thoughts of Bung Karno, Pancasila, the people, and many things," said Sahrin in the South Jakarta area, Thursday night.

"In fact, after meeting with the PDIP leadership, Mas Anies was awarded 10 books of Bung Karno's thoughts," he added.

After PDIP officially promoted Pramono Anung-Rano Karno in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election, Sahrin said there was no disappointment from Anies.

"When the party decided to be promoted in Jakarta, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, there was not the slightest disappointment from Mas Anies with PDIP. In fact, Mas Anies thanked the PDIP's decision," said Sahrin.

He said Anies hoped to continue working with PDIP.

"Hopefully this cooperation will not only be in the regional elections, more than that. How Indonesia fits the ideals of independence, realizing a just and prosperous society, guarding the constitution, it is part of important agendas," he said.

Sahrin reiterated that Anies decided not to run in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election. "The decision has been finalized, Mas Anies did not run in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election," he concluded.

In West Java, Sahrin said, the reason Anies decided not to participate in the 2024 Pilkada contestation in West Java was because there were no aspirations from the people of West Java themselves.

"Indeed, West Java does not specifically demand from citizens or aspirations from political parties at the regional level or at the regional level," said Sahrin.

Previously, Megawati did not speak firmly to refuse or accept to carry Anies in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. However, he gave Anies' condition that he would obey party rules.

"Why do I tell Anies to support him. He's right, if you want PDIP, if you want PDIP, don't be like that. Yes, you just want to obey?" Megawati said in her speech at the PDIP DPP office, Jakarta, last Thursday.

Anies' name is predicted to run for the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election through PDIP. However, PDIP officially announced the candidate for governor he carried in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.
