Teguh Prakosa-Bambang Carried By PDIP Registers With KPU Surakarta

JAKARTA - The candidate pair (paslon) from the PDI-P Teguh Prakosa-Bambang Nugroho has registered with the General Election Commission (KPU) of Surakarta City, Central Java, ahead of the closing on the last day of registration.

The two were escorted by hundreds of supporters to the Surakarta City KPU office. Before arriving at the local KPU office, the group walked from the Surakarta City PDI-P DPC Office to the KPU which is about 3 km away.

The group departed from the Surakarta City PDI-P DPC Office in Brengosan at around 21.30 WIB. Next, they arrived at the KPU office at around 23.00 WIB.

Regarding registration, the chairman of the Surakarta City PDI-P DPC FX Hadi Rudyatmo said that Teguh-Bambang's sudden election was the decision of the PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Previously, his party had submitted as many as 20 names that registered with the internal DPC PDI Perjuangan Surakarta City.

"Only there are those who register with the DPD and DPP. I don't know so whatever is decided by the General Chair is mandatory and we win," he said.

In this regard, his party targets victory for the Teguh-Bambang pair in the 5-year political contestation.

Rudyatmo said there was no target for vote acquisition. However, the most important thing is to be able to win.

"The important thing is that we can win the 2024 Pilkada contestation. Moreover, both are party cadres. The one is the secretary of the DPC and the other is the administrator of the departmental body in the PDI-P," he said.
