A Doctor Is Operating A Patient When A Fire Occurred At The South Jakarta RSPP

JAKARTA - PLT President Director of Pertamedika IHC Hospital Doctor Lia Partakusuma confirmed that the fire incident that occurred at the RSPP, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta did not take any lives. However, at the time of the incident, a number of doctors were undergoing surgery on patients.

Lia said the burning building was a 4F building which is usually used for the work area. According to him, the distance between the burning object and the operating room is quite far away, and there are no casualties.

"Today, 134 people are being treated at the hospital, we are grateful that Alhamdulillah there were no casualties," Lia told reporters at the RSPP, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Monday, August 26.

Lia explained that at the time of the incident hundreds of patients were evacuated to building B on the 1st floor and Emergency Installation (IGD).

"For patients currently 134, all B buildings on the 1st floor were evacuated. We place the ICU cases in the ER which require a ventilator and others," he said.

Deputy Director of Nursing at the RSPP, Sudarma, said that the fire that occurred in his place did not have an impact on the operating room. Because the location of the fire with the operating room is quite far away.

However, for the next operation plan, a temporary delay will be carried out until conditions are declared completely safe.

"At the time of the incident there was indeed an operation, but it was about to be completed and the distance between the 4th floor and 2nd floor was quite far so just cover the skin. As soon as it was finished, the evacuation to the ER was finished," he said.

"So it has been completed, and we have postponed the operation plan for now until a possible condition," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Head of the South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Syamsul Huda, said that the cause of the fire was suspected to be a short circuit in the listing due to a plug on the 4th floor of the RSPP, South Jakarta.

"The cause of the fire was an electrical short or plug on the 4th floor," he said.
