Ahead Of Megawati's Announcement On Monday Afternoon, Anies Was Asked To Come To The PDIP DPP

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for Anies Baswedan, Angga Putra Fidrian, revealed that the former Governor of DKI Jakarta was scheduled to go to the PDI-P DPP Office located on Jalan Diponegoro Number 58, Jakarta, on Monday, August 26 afternoon. Even so, Angga was reluctant to explain in more detail the purpose of Anies Baswedan's visit to the party headquarters bearing the white-snouting bull symbol. "Yes, to the DPP, but the details can be asked to the PDIP," said Angga when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta, Monday morning. Based on the agenda received, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri is planned to announce a candidate for regional heads for provinces and regencies/cities in the third wave. Announcement was held at 13.00 WIB at the PDIP DPP Office. PDIP previously announced a candidate for regional head through two waves. PDIP has also announced their champion to fight in the Banten Pilkada, namely Airin Rachmi Diany-Ade Sumardi. Meanwhile, the candidate pairs for the other four provinces on the island of Java, namely DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java, have not been announced. The name Anies Baswedan was widely championed by PDIP in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada after the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the latest nomination threshold rules.

Meanwhile, Anies is waiting for an order from Megawati Soekarnoputri as the General Chair of the PDIP. "I'm following the process, we'll just have to wait until my friends at the PDI-P tell me. Of course everyone is waiting for directions from the General Chair, Mrs. Megawati. I'm waiting," Anies Baswedan told reporters at the Labor Party Winning Post, Jakarta, last Sunday.
