PDIP Doesn't Require Anies To Become A Cadre If He's Carried In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

NUSA Dua - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Ahmad Basarah said his party did not oblige Anies Baswedan to become a cadre so that he could be promoted as a candidate for governor of Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada.

"Actually, the size is not to become or not a PDIP cadre. Because those who become PDIP cadres can betray themselves," said Basarah when met at the 6th PKB Congress, Nusa Dua, Bali, quoted on Sunday, August 25.

What is clear, PDIP requires Anies to hold a sincere and serious commitment to build political cooperation with the party led by Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Especially those related to fundamental matters, namely the principles of ideology and struggle platforms. That used to be a concern for the PDI-P," he explained.

However, if Anies does not become a PDIP cadre, Basarah admits that his party will ask for a candidate for deputy governor (cawagub) if he later agrees to carry Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"It could be that the PDI-P took the position of deputy governor candidate. The deputy governor candidate is from the PDI-P," explained Basarah.

However, the proposed cawagub Anies from PDIP cadres still needs to be discussed again by the former Governor of DKI Jakarta. PDIP will also hear how the consideration determines his partner in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

What is clear, continued Basarah, is that PDIP and Anies are in the same position. Both of them feel that they are antithesis of oligarchic political efforts.
