Denpasar Immigration Arrests Ukrainian Foreigners As Cashier With Investor Permit

DENPASAR - Denpasar Immigration Office, Bali arrested a foreign national (WNA) from Ukraine who was suspected of being a cashier in one of the boutiques with a limited residence permit from investors.

"When found in the surveillance operation, his position was at the cashier's desk to input the price of the products sold," said Denpasar Immigration Chief Ridha Sah Putra as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 23.

The foreigner with the initials DL was arrested during Jagratara's operation on August 21-22, 2024 in the Ubud tourist area, Gianyar Regency.

He explained that DL, which has entered Indonesia since early 2023, has a valid investor residence permit until January 25, 2025.

There are also other findings, namely the company and sponsorship owned by the Ukrainian man is different from his residence permit.

"The vision of the textile field is that the activities and locations are not textiles in the boutique that we found," he said.

In addition to foreigners from Ukraine, on that occasion his party also arrested four foreigners from the African continent, namely three people from Nigeria and one from Ghana who used a residence permit.

The three Nigerian foreigners exceeded the stay permit or overstay for 17 months and 15 months with the initials CHC, CEN, and UGU.

Then a foreigner from Ghana with the initials SCA who has exceeded the residence permit nine months since they entered Indonesia in mid-2023 through Soekarno Hatta Airport.

The Ghanaian citizen is still being investigated because he has not been able to submit his documents or passports.

"They have only been in Bali for one month, only traveling with overstay conditions," he said.

He asked foreign nationals who wish to extend their stay permit to access through the Molina application.

Ridha explained that the visa extension fee was IDR 500 thousand for visas upon arrival, then IDR 2 million for stay permits for visits with a period of 60 days and for limited stay permits it reached IDR 2,750,000 for a duration of only one year.

Meanwhile, during January-23 August 2024, Denpasar Immigration has deported 120 foreigners, including for violating residence permits, misuse of residence permits and related to criminal cases.
