JAKARTA - The police have doubts about the alleged cause of the fire in the Matraman area, East Jakarta because of a burning motorbike. The results of the provisional analysis, the existence of the motorbike helped to increase the flames.

"The motorbike is because it is in front, it stores gasoline, which causes a bigger fire," said the Head of the Fire Sub-Unit for the Puslabfor Polri, Kompol Kolis, to reporters, Thursday, March 25.

Apart from igniting the flames, the motorbike was strongly suspected to have prevented access to the outside of the victims. Because, continued Kolis, the motorbike was right in front of the rented house.

"With the large fire, in the area of the exit, there were casualties because it was a big fire. Triggered a big fire," he said.

To determine the cause of the fire, some evidence was brought to the laboratory. Later, a series of examinations will be carried out.

"This is what we studied in the laboratory for the cause of the fire," said Kolis.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the fire that occurred in Matraman, East Jakarta was triggered by a burning motorbike, then spread into the rented house.

This allegation was conveyed by Anies Baswedan when he came to the Mataraman fire location and met the survivors. There were 10 victims who died in the fire.

"This time the cause was not electricity and stove, but there was a motorbike outside the house that caught fire and then closed the narrow alleyway. But, the cause and others let the police take care of it," said Anies at the location.

A fire for a rented house in Matraman, East Jakarta occurred at 04.50 WIB. The victims were trapped in several rented plots.

The dead victims were found in rented squares number two and three. The victim has been evacuated from the rented house on Jalan Pisangan Baru III RT 06 / RW 10, Matraman District. They will be buried in Pondok Ranggon TPU.
