Jokowi To Prabowo: October 20, 2024, Allow Me To Leave The Leadership Estate Stick

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo asked Prabowo Subianto for permission to hand over the baton of his leadership on October 20, or during the Inauguration of the Candidate Pair for President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to become President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029. This was conveyed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI in 2024 at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 16. "To Mr. General TNI Purn. Prabowo Subianto, next year, God willing, you will deliver a state speech. Later, on October 20, 2024, allow me to hand over this leadership baton to Mr. Prabowo Subianto," said President Jokowi as in a live broadcast via the DPR RI YouTube account which was witnessed in Jakarta, Friday. President Jokowi said that Prabowo Subianto as Minister of Defense and presidential candidate for election in the 2024 election would deliver a state speech on August 16, 2025. At the end of his closing remarks at the Annual Session of the MPR RI and State Speech, President Jokowi asked Prabowo for permission to submit all the hopes and ideals of the Indonesian people, from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island, from the outskirts, from the outermost regions, from the village, from the city centers to Prabowo. President Jokowi prays that the Indonesian people under the leadership of Prabowo Subianto as the next president will be given convenience. "May Allah Swt., God Almighty, always provide guidance and convenience for the Indonesian people in President Prabowo Subianto's leadership in the next period of government," said the President. The 2024 Annual Session was held with the theme Nusantara Baru, Advanced Indonesia consisting of the Annual Session of the MPR RI, the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI, and the Plenary Session of the Opening of the First Session of the DPR for the 2024 — 2025 Session. In the Annual Session of the MPR RI as well as the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI, the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also submitted reports on the performance of state institutions, as well as state speeches in the context of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

After the MPR Annual Session and Joint Session, the event will continue at 13.30 WIB to hold the DPR RI Plenary Session on the 2025 RAPBN.
