Cak Imin: There Is No Islah Term Between PKB And PBNU

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) emphasized that there is no islah between himself and Gus Yahya or the PBNU elite. The reason, he said, PKB and PBNU are two different entities.

Cak Imin also admitted that there was no problem with coffee together with PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya and PBNU Secretary General Saifullah Yusuf alias Gus Ipul ahead of the PKB VI Congress in Bali on August 24-25, 2024. The important thing, said Cak Imin, was to have coffee with him with good intentions and manners.

"It's better if you invite good coffee but yes, the intention is polite. You are polite, I hesitate, you don't teach me to beat it," said Cak Imin after visiting NU senior Kiai Haji Syukron Makmun at the Daarul Rahman Islamic Boarding School, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, last Thursday.

He emphasized that there was no islah between him and Gus Yahya or the PBNU elite. The reason, he said, is that PKB and PBNU are two different entities.

"There is no islah, wong has nothing to do with it. What is PBNU's business, our own business, what is being denied," said Cak Imin.

It is known, Cak Imin admitted to meeting Kiai Syukron Makmun to report the PKB conflict with PBNU to Kiai Syukron Makmun. He said that PKB-PBNU has no organizational relationship.

"Yes, I also reported the PKB-NU. I affirmed and he agreed that NU and PKB had no organizational relationship. Their relationship was only cultural, aspirational and historical," said Cak Imin after the meeting.

Cak Imin reminded that PBNU should not interfere in PKB affairs. The reason, he said, was that the existence of PKB and PBNU was protected by the constitution.

"So that NU should not intervene because we are protected by the constitution, PKB is protected by the law of political parties, Nahdlatul Ulama is protected by the law of mass organizations," he said.

"So please friends at PBNU, that's all my friends, even though it's the kiai but my friends. It's to obey the constitution, because we and you are protected by law," he added.

Furthermore, Cak Imin said that PKB and PBNU are both protected by the constitution, PKB is protected by the Political Party Law and PBNU is protected by the Ormas Law.

"There are two constitutions, the constitution of the Ormas Law and the constitution of political parties. The two constitutions are AD / ART each. We have AD / ART, you have AD / ART. Let's respect and respect each other," concluded Cak Imin.
