Wife's Body In Cimahi Locked In Room By Her Husband For 7 Days

BANDUNG - A young mother was found dead in the room and locked from outside by her husband for seven days.

Although for a week knowing his wife had died, the husband did not tell his family and local residents until they were finally exposed after a pungent odor was smelled from the victim's room.

Residents of RT 02 RW 04 Jalan Pojok, Cimahi City, West Java on Tuesday (13/8/2024) night were shocked by the discovery of a woman's body wrapped in a blanket in the room of one of the houses in the densely populated settlement.

Based on information at the scene, the victim named Syakira, died 7 days ago. However, her husband was hidden by Syahir in his bedroom.

"The body was found in the room, it was covered by my husband, I couldn't open it because it smelled pungent. It's been a week," he said from Wednesday there, said Teguh, the head of the local RT.

Based on Syair's narrative to him, Teguh said, the reason he did not report his wife's death to his family was because he was afraid.

"The problem was that the victim had had a miscarriage in the past, but it was the husband who blamed him. He (the husband) said that," he said.

Teguh said that during the past seven days, residents did not suspect anything, because he and other residents thought the victim was working outside, even though they were also inhabited at home by their two relatives.

"The door was locked from the outside by her husband. Even though her husband already knew his wife had died, he didn't tell his brother, his brother was at home here," he said.

However, in the end, said Teguh, the incident could be uncovered and discovered after the pungent smell by his brother and other residents.

"He found out that his brother's pungent smell continued to be opened with his brother at the bedroom door," he explained.

Now the incident that has shocked residents in Pojok has also been handled by the Cimahi Police Satreskrim. In addition to deploying an identification team for the crime scene to be carried out.

The officers also arrested a man suspected of being the victim's husband to be taken to the Police Headquarters for further investigation along with a number of evidences. The victim's body has been taken to the hospital for an autopsy.

It is planned that Wednesday, August 14 this afternoon the Cimahi Police will provide clear information regarding the case.
