Weather Wednesday, August 14, 14 Regions In Indonesia Still Have The Potential To Rain

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that 14 regions in Indonesia have the potential to experience light rain on Wednesday, August 14. BMKG forecasters Syndhy Indah Pratiwi, said that the areas that have the potential to be hit by light rain intensities are Palembang, South Sumatra; Jambi; Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; Medan, North Sumatra; Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands; and Gorontalo. "The following are Padang City, West Sumatra; Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Ambon, Maluku; Sorong, West Papua; and Manokwari, West Papua," said Syndhy.

In addition to light rain, he also said that there are several areas that have the potential to rain with moderate intensity.

The three regions are Samarinda, East Kalimantan; Ternate, North Maluku; Nabire, Papua; Jayapura, Papua; Jayawijaya, Papua Mountains; and Merauke, Papua. Furthermore, BMKG also predicts thick cloudy weather conditions will occur in seven regions, namely Bengkulu; Lampung; Aceh; Jakarta; Semarang, Central Java; Surabaya, East Java; and Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

"Meanwhile, there are four areas that are predicted to be cloudy, namely Pekanbaru, Riau; Serang, Banten; Bandung, West Java; and Makassar, South Sulawesi," Syndhy added.
