Police Hunt For Rp70 Million In Cash From BRI Link Outlet In Riau

PEKANBARU - Pangkalan Kerinci Police Sector, Pelalawan Regency, Riau is hunting for an unknown man who stole Rp70 million from BRI Link outlets and threatened business owners with sharp weapons on Jalan Seminai, Pangkalan Kerinci.

"The owner has reported the incident to the Pelalawan Police. The loss is Rp. 70 million," said Pangkalan Kerinci Police Chief AKP Viola Dwi Anggraini, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 13.

The location of the theft on Jalan Seminai, Pangkalan Kerinci occurred on Sunday (11/8).

Based on surveillance camera footage, the perpetrator wore dark pants and a white t-shirt with traffic police on his right and left arms.

The perpetrator launched his action by pretending to be a bank customer and then pointing a sharp weapon at two employees. The two women who were at the table were scared and told to curl up under the table.

"The perpetrator pretended to withdraw money, went back and forth at that location and took money while threatening employees there using sharp weapons such as sickles," explained AKP Viola.

This unknown man immediately took away all the money in the drawer. Currently, the police are conducting an investigation to find out the identity of the perpetrator.
