The Story Of Witness Nanang Saving Himself From The Matraman Fire Which Killed 10 People

JAKARTA - 10 people were reported killed in a fire in Matraman, East Jakarta. The fire is thought to have originated from an electrical short circuit, which grabbed Haji Mubin's 5-door rented house.

This fire was reported to have occurred at around 4:50 a.m. WIB when the residents were thought to be still asleep. One of the tenants named Nanang managed to save himself from a big fire on Jalan Pisangan Baru III-RT06/RW10 Matraman.

“The witness Nanang saw that the fire was already big. He had time to secure his wife because the fire was already burning very big, he came out", said Head of Section for Fire and Rescue (Damkar) East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept Gatot Sulaeman, to reporters, Thursday, March 25.

"(Witness) saved himself and his wife and children and could not go back in because the fire was getting bigger", continued Gatot.

There are 14 fire engines deployed to the location. Now the fire has been extinguished.
