JAKARTA - Toll road entrepreneur Jusuf Hamka responded to the issue of the emergence of the name of the Elected Vice President, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia as General Chair of Golkar replacing Airlangga Hartarto.

The man who is familiarly called Babah Alun emphasized that Golkar is a big party and not a carbitan.

Jusuf Hamka emphasized this after submitting his official resignation letter to the Golkar Party DPP.

Jusuf Hamka decided to resign as a Golkar cadre shortly after Airlangga resigned as Chairman.

Jusuf Hamka admitted that he knew about the names of Gibran and Bahlil would become Ketum through memes on social media. According to him, whoever is the best figure can lead the Beringin Party.

"Yes, I just heard from the memes that you sent yesterday. Whoever is the best daughter of the nation, please dream Golkar," said Jusuf Hamka to reporters at the Golkar DPP office, Jakarta, Monday, August 12.

However, he reminded, the Golkar Party is a big party that has been active for a long time in the world of Indonesian politics. So it must be led by people who have experience and credibility.

"Golkar is a big party, not a carbitan party. Of course it must be held by good people," he said.

When asked whether Ketum Golkar will come from external, Jusuf said that Gibran, who is a former PDIP cadre, is an external figure.

"From external, sir, we all know, Gibran is also external to Golkar," he said.

Regarding the possibility of Golkar being led by an external figure, Jusuf Hamka was reluctant to comment much. He invited the public to ask the banyan elders.

"Ask the elders who understand this SOP rule better. I don't understand. I'm just a cadre who has been around for a long time," he concluded.
