BOGOR - The Bogor City Government ensures that the schedule for implementing the COVID-19 vaccination when entering the month of Ramadan starting April 12 will continue. Vaccinations will be held in the morning and evening.

"In the month of Ramadan, vaccinations are still carried out to pursue the target of implementing the second phase of vaccination, namely people who work in public services and the elderly (elderly)," said Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 24.

According to Dedie, the Bogor City Government carries out vaccinations according to the schedule set in the national vaccination program, namely vaccinations will continue until the end of June 2021.

Dedie explained, the implementation of vaccination in the month of Ramadan, the process and procedure is the same as before Ramadan. The execution time and target recipient are also the same.

"For vaccine recipients who have special needs, such as requiring food intake one hour before being vaccinated, it can be done. Later, the fast is replaced the next time," he continued.

According to Dedie, the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination is also in accordance with the fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) which states that vaccination in the month of Ramadan does not cancel fasting.

"Vaccination does not invalidate the fast, but if the recipient of the vaccine, for example, feels insecure and wants to cancel his fast on that day, then he can replace it the next day after Ramadan," said Dedie.

Previously, the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, said that the Bogor City Government is targeting to complete the second phase of vaccination for 109,000 target recipients, by the end of June 2021.

According to Bima, to pursue the vaccination target, the Bogor City Government will increase its intensity by adding additional places for its implementation, namely in 15 hospitals, 25 Puskesmas, clinics, as well as in buildings, malls, as well as on a "drive thru" basis at GOR Pajajaran.

The number of target recipients of the vaccine has also been increased, from around 3,000 people per day to around 7,000 people per day.
