The Hit-and-run Actor Is A 7-year-old Boy In Kelapa Gading, Apparently A Student, His Status Is A Suspect

JAKARTA - Police arrested a man with the initials MRK (21) who was the perpetrator of a child hit and run in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta. In fact, the police have named him a suspect.

"The initials of the suspect are MRK (21), male, a student who we have now named as a suspect," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Wednesday, March 24.

Yusri said, this student was successfully arrested on Monday, March 22, evening. This arrest was also based on the results of tracing CCTV footage and e-TLE cameras.

It's just that, the motive for that incident is not yet clear. This is because the Sub-Directorate for Gakkum, Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya is still investigating the suspect's testimony.

"We are still conducting investigations including all of their motives. Now we are detaining the suspect," said Yusri.

Previously it was reported, the hit and run incident in Kelapa Gading took place on Sunday, March 21. The victim of a hit and run is a 7 year old child.

"The victim was walking in the morning with his parents. Arriving at the scene of the crime, he was hit by a black sedan and then fled," said Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Sambodo Purnomo Yogo.

Sambodo explained that the hit-and-run incident occurred at around 6:17 a.m. WIB, Sunday, March 21 at Jl Kelapa Cengkir, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

"Precisely next to the Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village Office, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta," he said.
