Lukman Edy Reported By The Batam PKB DPC Regarding Defamation, Police Investigate Materially

KEPRI - Barelang Police in the Riau Islands (Kepri) said that the Batam City National Awakening Party (PKB) report regarding the alleged defamation case would be investigated materially.

The investigation was carried out after the Batam PKB DPC reported the former Secretary General of the PKB DPP Lukman Edy regarding this case.

"From PKB friends, we have received it in the form of public complaints reports. We will investigate it materially later," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Barelang Police, Riau Islands, AKP Giadi Nugraha in Batam, Wednesday, July 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

To explore the report, the Barelang Police formed a joint team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Barelang Police in coordination with the Riau Islands Police. "Because the Regional Police also received the same report," he said.

According to him, the report was in the form of a public complaint so that the party who reported should have been defamed.

"We'll see the report later, this is still a public complaint because the report is to individuals and those who report parties or organizations," said Giadi.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Batam City PKB DPC, Surya Makmur, said that his party reported Lukman Edy regarding the alleged defamation.

According to him, Lukman Edy is suspected of spreading false news and slander against PKB in a meeting with the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 31.

"The Batam City DPC reported Muhammad Lukman Edy, who we suspected of defaming. He conveyed false news and slander against PKB," said Surya.

A similar report has also been submitted by the PKB DPP to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police on Monday, August 5.
