Two Agendas In North Maluku Supported By The Ministry Of Tourism And Creative Economy Entering KEN 2024

JAKARTA - Two tourist agendas in North Maluku (Malut) are in the spotlight of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The agendas are the Jailolo Bay Festival (FTJ) and the Tanjung Waka Festival in the Sula Islands, which are included in the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2024.

"This is an extraordinary achievement, because in North Maluku there are only two festivals that are included in the KEN agenda, namely, FTJ and the Tanjung Waka Festival. I appreciate the Regency Government and the people in West Halmahera Regency and Sula Islands because they are not easy to enter KEN, there is always competition and it is chosen by professional curators," said Expert Staff of the Menparekraf for Bureaucratic Reform and Regulation, R. Ukarm Currency in Ternate, as reported by ANTARA, Sunday 4 August.

According to him, there are two agendas in North Maluku that are included in the 2024 KEN cannot be separated from the uniqueness of concepts, innovations and improvements in the quality of the implementation of 'events' from year to year," he said while reading the remarks written by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno.

Meanwhile, FJT with the theme 'Culture for Future, Sustainable and Investment' illustrates that FTJ is formed from the artistic values and culture of ancestral traditions such as a series of sygofi ngolo rituals, sadau oroms, Tabaru land exposure, Creative Go To School to Sasadu On The Sea which are presented through community creativity and continued involvement from social and environmental aspects as well as becoming an economic investment for the future of more advanced and independent West Halmahera.

According to him, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy supports efforts like this, as well as supports proud programs to travel in Indonesia and proud to be made in Indonesia as well as economic recovery through achieving the target of foreign tourists visiting and the movement of domestic tourists as well as creating new jobs in the tourism sector.

"We are optimistic that FTJ and the Tanjung Waka Festival will not only be a place to promote arts and cultural tourism destinations as well as creative economy products, in the future we hope that more creative economy actors will be born, so that this activity will continue to be sustainable and more qualified by always innovating, adapting and always collaborating with 3G (moving fast, moving together and working on all potentials)," he said.

He invited the public to pray together so that the eruption of Mount Ibu will end soon and the community can live its life, so that the economy can grow and recover.

Meanwhile, Acting Secretary of the North Maluku Provincial Secretary Kadri Laetje stated that FTJ and the Tanjung Waka Festival have been included in the list of KEN because of their natural wealth capital, such as the beautiful cluster of Kahatola islands and West Halmahera, whose various cultures have been well preserved until now.

"This is of course based on the spirit of the West Halmahera Regional Government and people who have a wide-minded and intelligent paradigm so that the potential for sleeping can be managed from year to year well," he said.
