Police Arrest 32 Teenagers For Brawl: Confiscated 17 Sajams, Firecrackers, And Hard Water

The joint team from the East Jakarta Metro Police and the Duren Sawit Police have arrested 32 teenagers who were about to fight on Jalan Kolonel Sugiyono, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Sunday night, July 28, 2024.

East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly emphasized that in addition to securing 32 teenagers, the police also confiscated evidence of 17 sharp weapons of the type of duck cocor (Corbek), 1 pack of hard water, 1 firecracker flash ball, 9 motorbikes and 14 cellphones.

"Of the 32 perpetrators of this brawl, there are a group of teenagers who are still students," said Kombes Nicolas when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, July 28, evening.

A total of 32 teenagers who were arrested with the initials RAF (17), RA (20), MI (17), PMR (22), MKU (16), RA (16), AF (14), GRR (15), AIM (17), MS (18), AS (17), AA (20), PW (24), AS (21), RCF (18), MSS (26), MPL (27), AR (22), AA (23), AS (26), MES (17), MS (28), MD (28), ASB (17), DYW (25), CT (20), ANS (16), RF (18), MSH (22), MA (18), AB (22) and MA (21).

"The 32 teenagers were taken and secured at the Duren Sawit Police Headquarters for data collection and urine checks by the East Jakarta Metro Police Dokkes," he said.

The purpose of this urine check was carried out to prevent narcotics abuse among teenagers.

"The results of the urine check for the fourteen people who were arrested were negative," he said.

After the examination, of the 32 people, 9 of them were found to have sharp weapons.

"They are then processed according to the SOP," he said.

Checking urine tests on brawlers caught to prevent drug abuse. Police also continue to increase patrols to prevent brawls in the East Jakarta area.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Duren Sawit Police, AKP Sutikno, added that currently his party is still investigating the 32 students who were detained.

"They will also be briefed and make a letter of agreement so as not to repeat their actions. The plan is that students who do not violate the crime will be sent home to their respective parents," added AKP Sutikno.

However, later if there are students who violate the crime, the perpetrators will be charged with Article 2 of the Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 and/or Article 170 of the Criminal Code, Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
