Arrested By The Attorney General's Office For Corruption Cases, Ujang Iskandar Is Still A Witness

JAKARTA - A member of the DPR from the NasDem faction, Ujang Iskandar, was arrested in connection with the alleged corruption case of misappropriation of West Kotawaringin Government funds for the 2009 period. However, his status is still a witness.

"So far, the person concerned is still a witness," said Head of the Central Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati), Law Mugopal to VOI, Friday, July 26.

Regarding the attempt to forcefully arrest the politician, Ujang Iskandar said he was uncooperative during the process of handling the alleged corruption case. He was several times absent from the summons for investigation at the investigation stage.

"He has been summoned several times as a witness but did not come, instead showed an uncooperative attitude," he said.

Regarding the form of alleged corruption, the Law did not elaborate in detail. However, the series of summons for examination sent against the NasDem politician was a follow-up to the court's decision regarding misappropriation of West Kotawaringin Government funds for the 2009 period.

It is known that Ujang had served as Regent of West Kotawaringin for two terms from 2005 to 2015.

"So far, the investigation is still at the AGO, later the results of the examination will determine the next steps," said UU.

Meanwhile, Ujang Iskandar was arrested in a case of alleged corruption in the misappropriation of West Kotawaringin Government funds.

The arrests were made when Ujang Iskandar arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) after returning from Vietnam, today.
