The Prosecutor's Office Names The Former Treasurer Of The Nunukan Hospital As A Corruption Suspect

NUNUKAN - The Nunukan District Attorney (Kejari), North Kalimantan (Kaltara), has named the former treasurer of the Regional Public Service Agency (BLUD) of the Nunukan Regional General Hospital (RSUD) with the initials NH as a corruption suspect.

The head of the Nunukan District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Fatoni Hatam revealed that the determination of the suspect was carried out after the investigation team examined 44 witnesses.

"The results of the examination found more than two sufficient pieces of evidence, so we (Kejari Nunukan) named NH as a suspect with the Suspect Determination Letter Number: Print 54/0.4.16/Fd.1/07/2024 dated July 23, 2024," said Fatoni, Tuesday, July 23.

"The team also confiscated 507 items and five pieces of letter evidence so that NH was suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption related to BLUD funds," he continued.

After being named a suspect, investigators detained the suspect NH based on the Detention Order Number: Print 55/0.4.16/Fd. 1/07/2024.

"The detention was carried out so that the suspect would not run away and destroy or destroy evidence. The detention of the suspect is in accordance with the warrant number we have issued," said Fatoni.

He explained that the modus operandi used by the perpetrators was the double payment of the same expenditure item, but only paid once.

In addition, investigators also found that there was a disbursement of the budget for fictitious expenditure transactions and could not be accounted for outside the BLUD obligation of the Nunukan Hospital.

"The BPKP Kaltara Representative Investigation Auditor Team (TAIP) will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to determine certain and comprehensive regional losses. However, the alleged regional losses are around Rp. 3,109,314,155.28," he explained.

Kajari emphasized that the investigative team is still developing the case to find out if there are other parties involved in the case.

"It is possible that there will be other suspects, we will continue to develop this case to find out whether other parties are involved," he concluded.
