A Grandpa In Karawang Obscures Junior High School Students, Suspects Often Give Money To Victims

JAKARTA - Police officers from the Karawang Regency Police have arrested a 64-year-old grandfather for allegedly molesting a junior high school student.

"The perpetrator with the initials TN is suspected of having committed sexual immorality twice," said PPA committee member of the Karawang Police, Aiptu Asep Danny in Karawang, as reported by Antara, Sunday, March 21.

He conveyed that a grandfather with the initials TN, a resident of Kotabaru Karawang District, was arrested for allegedly committing sexual abuse against a junior high school student with the initials V.

The grandfather's action was revealed after the victim's parents investigated the behavior of the suspect who often gave money to the victim.

"Suddenly the victim's parents received information from their friend that their child had been kissed by the suspect. Feeling suspicious, the victim's parents, along with several friends, met the suspect," he said.

After being met and asked directly by the victim's parents, it turned out that the grandfather admitted that he had committed sexual abuse to the victim.

Receiving such a confession, the victim's parents immediately reported the actions of the grandfather with the initials TN to the Karawang Police Headquarters.

According to Asep Danny, according to the results of the interim examination, the suspect had molested the victim twice. The first time was done on Monday (08/03). Then the second one was held on Thursday (11/03).

"The suspect carried out the action at night at his house," he said.

For his actions, the suspect is subject to article 81 or 82 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17/2016 concerning the Stipulation of the Perppu Number 1/2016 concerning the second amendment to the Republic of Indonesia Law No.23 / 2002 concerning Child Protection.

The threat is imprisonment for a maximum of 15 years or a fine of Rp. 300 million.
