Most Of The Capital Cities In Indonesia Are Forecasted To Be Sunny And Cloudy

JAKARTA - The weather in most areas of the provincial capital is predicted to be cloudy on Saturday, July 20.

"Most areas of Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Bali, and Eastern Indonesia are predicted to be cloudy," said Ida Pramuwardani, Weather Forecaster for the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) quoting Antara.

Sunny cloudy weather on the island of Java has the potential to occur in Serang, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Semarang areas, while Central Jakarta and Surabaya are predicted to be sunny with an average temperature of 24-30 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, on the islands of Sumatra, the areas of Palembang, Bandar Lampung, and Jambi are predicted to be cloudy, while Banda Aceh and Padang are predicted to be sunny with an average temperature of 23-35 degrees Celsius. The Bengkulu and Medan areas are predicted to be cloudy.

"Sshifting to Kalimantan Island, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, Tanjung Pinang, and Pekanbaru areas is also predicted to be cloudy," he said.

The Tarakan City area is predicted to be sunny, while Pangkal Pinang and Palangkaraya are predicted to be cloudy.

Then, shifting to Bali Island, Denpasar City is predicted to be cloudy.

In Eastern Indonesia, the provincial capitals that are predicted to be cloudy are Ternate, Mataram, Kupang, Mamuju, Makassar, and Kendari. Meanwhile, the cities of Manado and Gorontalo are predicted to be cloudy.

Ambon City is forecasted for light rain. "It shifts to Papua, Jayapura City and Manokwari are predicted to be cloudy," he said.

Ida also said that the BMKG gave an early warning to the public to be aware of the potential for rain with moderate to heavy intensity which could be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in Aceh, North Kalimantan, and West Papua.

People in the Bali region are also reminded to be aware of the potential for an increase in wind speed and wave height which can reach two meters or more.

"People in East Java and West Kalimantan are also asked to be aware of the increase in air temperature and decrease in air humidity which can trigger the potential for easy forest or land fires," he said.

Meanwhile, people in Maluku are reminded to be aware of rain with moderate to heavy intensity in the Central Maluku Regency area.

"For people in West Sulawesi, be aware of the potential for strong winds in coastal areas of Majene Regency and Polewali Mandar Regency at night until early morning," he said.
