South Sumatra OKU Regent's Office Fire Hanguskan All Files, Police Investigate Source Of Fire

OKU - Ogan Komering Ulu Resort Police (Polres) in South Sumatra (Sumsel) is still investigating the cause of the fire that scorched the OKU Regent's Office on Monday, July 15 at around 21.00 WIB.

OKU Police Chief AKBP Imam Zamroni said the great fire scorched all files, trophies and items in the OKU Regent's Office in Kelurahan Kemelak, East Baturaja District.

"In addition to the regent's room, the OKU Regency Government Protocol room was also partially eaten by the red rooster," he said in Baturaja, Tuesday, July 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to the OKU Police Chief, until now his party has not been able to ascertain what caused the fire and where the source of the fire came from.

Currently, his party has brought in a Labfor Team for the South Sumatra Police to investigate in more detail what caused the fire.

"Today we put up a police line first at the location of the fire. Later or tomorrow, the South Sumatra Police Labfor Team will come to OKU to investigate the cause of this fire," said the Police Chief.

Meanwhile, Acting OKU Regent Teddy Meilwansyah added that his party continues to coordinate with the police to investigate the cause of the fire.

"The cause of the fire is still waiting for the results of the Inafis," he said.

For the time being, he said, his party used the office of the inspectorate, assistant, and district house to be used as meeting room for employees.

Previously, the tense situation colored the process of extinguishing the OKU Regency Government Office which caught fire on Monday, July 15 at around 21.00 WIB.

At least five fire engines were deployed to tame the fire that devoured the front roof and several rooms at the OKU Regent's office.
