JAKARTA - Director General of Land Transportation (Dirjen Hubdat) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Risyapudin Nursin asked that every bus departure be collected properly in order to optimize information delivery if something unexpected happens.

"With the manifest being well recorded, we will have accurate information about passengers when a bus accident occurs," said Risyapudin while inspecting the Semarang Mangkang Type A Terminal in Semarang, Sunday.

Risyapudin conducted a review of services at several Type A Terminals, namely Type A Terminal Harjamukti Cirebon; Type A Terminal Tegal; Type A Terminal Pekalongan; Type A Terminal Mangkang Semarang and Type A Terminal Tingkir, Salatiga.

During the visits at several terminals, Risyapudin emphasized the importance of optimizing the departure manifest to each bus.

He said that this must be a concern because it will facilitate the process of identifying victims in bus accidents, so that the handling and delivery of information to the families of the victims can be done quickly and accurately.

Even so, he also emphasized that every vehicle must have been ramp checked or completed operations before departing, in order to prevent unwanted things.

"Kendaraan yang beroperasi harus sesuai ketentuan dan dalam kondisi prima. Dibutuh juga edukasi kepada masyarakat untuk mengecek kondisi bus yang akan di naiki melalui aplikasi Mitra Darat atau Spionam," kata Risyapudin dalam keterangan di Jakarta.

Furthermore, Risyapudin also conveyed to the Supervisors of the Type A Terminal Service Unit to maximize terminal services by prioritizing informative, safe, and service.

He highlighted the importance of providing clear and accurate information to passengers, ensuring good intermodal connectivity, and ensuring safety and security while at the terminal.

Let's make this Type A Terminal a more informative service center, both in terms of service, connectivity, to security and safety. With this increase, we hope that every passenger will have a better and more comfortable experience when using terminal facilities," he added.

In an effort to improve service quality, Risyapudin also had a direct dialogue with passengers and officers in the field to get constructive input and suggestions.

He invited all parties involved to work together and innovate in providing the best service to the community. Risyapudin appealed to the Otobus (PO) companies so that each bus has two drivers who have the same qualifications, not just a modest backup driver.

"It is important for bus drivers to rest after 4-5 hours driving the vehicle," he said.
