The Perpetrator Burned The Journalist's House In Karo Had Joined The Victim's Grave

Yunus Saputra Tarigan and Rudi Apri Sembiring two suspects in the burning of the perfect Pasaribu house who was arrested by the North Sumatra Police (Ist)

MEDAN - Yunus Saputra Tarigan, one of two suspects in the burning of the house of a Tribrata TV journalist, namely Perfect Pasaribu, participated in burying the victim. Perfect Pasaribu and three members of her family were burned to death by the perpetrators at her house in Kabanjahe District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. Yunus is a friend of Perfect Pasaribu.

Yunus Tarigan had come to mourn and joined when he buried Perfect Pasaribu and her wife, children, and grandchildren at the Salit Village public cemetery, Tigapanah District, North Sumatra Karo Regency, on Friday, June 28, 2024.

This was stated by the Director of the Medan Legal Aid Institute, Irvan Saputra.

According to Irvan, this was revealed from the confession of the biological child of Perfect Pasaribu, Eva Melina Pasaribu. The suspect Yunus actually took part and played an active role and was responsible in the funeral of the victim like the victim's family.

"The information was obtained from the son of the late Perfect Pasaribu, who during the burial of his father, son, and younger brother and mother were there Y and played an active role," said Irvan, Wednesday, July 10.

Irvan also said that previously the family did not expect that one of the executors of the house's burning was a colleague of Perfect Pasaribu and participated in burying the victim.

"The arrest of Y (Yunus) really surprised the deceased's biological child, even the third heard that, the deceased's child so cried did not think that Y was the culprit, that's about it," he said.

The North Sumatra Police have arrested two perpetrators in this arson case. However, LBH Medan believes that there were more than two perpetrators of the arson. From the results of the search and the results of witness statements, there were five people who were near the Perfect Pasaribu house shortly before the fire broke out.

Apart from Yunus Saputra Tarigan, the police also arrested Rudi Apri Sembiring. In his action, Yunus played the role of the person who watered the house using two bottles of mineral water containing diesel and Pertalite and then burned it. Rudi acts as a buyer of Pertalite oil and diesel.

Yunus had to be paralyzed by officers with hot lead because he fought the officers and tried to escape when he was about to be arrested.

Until now, the North Sumatra Police have not released a motive for the burning of the Perfect Pasaribu house. LBH Medan suspects that the motive for burning a house is because it has something to do with victims who are aggressively reporting gambling and drugs in Karo Regency, North Sumatra.
