Supporting Limited PTM, DPR Asked Minister Of Education And Culture Nadiem To Ensure Schools Are Safe To Apply The COVID-19 Health Program

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR RI, Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti, welcomed the government's plan to reopen the face-to-face teaching and learning process in July 2020.

However, he reminded Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, that the face-to-face learning process (PTM) should still be carried out carefully considering that the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing.

Education providers must really ensure the implementation of health protocols. Such as wearing masks, maintaining distance and limiting the number of students so that the implementation of the shift system must still be implemented.

"Everything is positive and we support it, especially the opening of face-to-face schools. However, what must be understood by the community is that since the beginning of this year the Ministry of Education and Culture has allowed face-to-face schools, but it all depends on the district / city government, the school concerned, and the parents of the students," Agustina said to reporters, written on Friday, 19 March

For information, the Minister of Education and Culture issued a limited face-to-face learning policy which is planned to be carried out after the government has finished giving vaccinations to education personnel.

Based on the conclusions of yesterday's meeting, Thursday, March 18, Commission X also urged the Ministry of Education and Culture to ensure that educational units that will carry out limited face-to-face learning have the required facilities and infrastructure in accordance with the special health protocol for the COVID-19 pandemic, along with sources of funding.

"Commission X DPR encourages the government to immediately complete vaccinations for all educators and education personnel in order to support the plans for schools and campuses to hold limited face-to-face learning," he said, citing one of the meeting's conclusion points.

Previously, the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, obliged all schools to provide students with limited face-to-face learning options. If the vaccination of teachers and students in the second period has been running.

"For parents who do not want their child face to face. It is their decision for the child to still be at home," he explained.

Nadiem said the face-to-face learning obligation was carried out with a mixed system. Where the school also provides distance learning.

"It is also possible for the school to arrange for only two days of face-to-face learning, the rest is still remote," he said.

Nadiem added, the government deliberately obliged to open face-to-face learning with these conditions so that the target achievement in July 2021 could be paid in installments for all schools to be held face-to-face.

"So it's in reality if we don't pay in installments, we won't arrive, in July everything will start," said Nadiem.
