Director General Of Hubdat Wants To Use Technology At Ferry Ports

SIDOARJO - Directorate General of Land Transportation Budi Setiyadi gave general direction in the Design of River, Lake and Crossing Ports (SDP). He asked to take advantage of technology in the ferry port.

"I want to motivate executors at each BPTD regarding the design and construction at SDP Port. What is being done now is a change in the mindset of doing tasks by utilizing Information Technology and starting to abandon conventional methods," said Director General Budi in his statement, Wednesday, March 17.

He explained that currently the challenges faced by the Directorate of River, Lake and Ferry Transportation are currently getting bigger. Where many ferry ports do not have supporting facilities and facilities.

"So far, the portion that has always received attention is the ferry port, while river and lake ports are a bit left behind," he added.

He explained, since 2020 we have started the construction and preparation of ship facilities in several large lakes in Indonesia, such as Lake Toba and Matano. "What is a tough task is the use of large rivers such as in Kalimantan, South Sumatra and Papua."

The materials that are technical in planning and development include river, lake and ferry port facilities. Includes implementation of "Green Port / Smart Port"

"The use of the Floating Breakwater Technology Concept at the Ferry Port. To the application of the concept of renewable energy," he concluded.
