Seeking Evidence Of Alleged Corruption Case In Response To The COVID-19 Pandemic, KPK Searched West Bandung Social Service Office

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to conduct searches in a number of locations in West Bandung. Search related to the investigation of alleged corruption in the procurement of emergency response goods for the COVID-19 pandemic at the Social Service for the Regional Government of West Bandung Regency.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Division of the KPK Ali Fikri said, today, investigators conducted a search of a number of locations, including the West Bandung Regency Regional Government Social Service Office.

"The KPK investigating team conducted searches in several locations in the West Bandung Regency area, including the West Bandung Regency Social Service Office and the West Bandung Regency Education Office," Ali said in his written statement, Thursday, March 18.

It is not yet known what kind of evidence the investigator found. Because, until now, the search is still being carried out.

"Then we will inform again," he said.

The KPK has found a number of evidence in a number of searches carried out. During the search that was held on Wednesday, March 17 at four locations, namely the PUPR Office of West Bandung Regency, the Office of CV BP (Bintang Pamungkas) in Lembang, West Bandung Regency.

Then the CV SSGC (Sentral Vegetable Garden City) in Lembang, West Bandung Regency, and the residence of the party related to the case, investigators found evidence in the form of documents and electronic evidence.

In addition, the KPK also found documentary evidence from a search at the office of West Bandung Regent Aa Umbara on Tuesday, March 16.

Previously reported, the KPK was investigating the alleged corruption case at the West Bandung Social Service. This investigation was carried out in relation to allegations of corruption in the procurement of emergency response goods for the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in 2020.

However, the KPK has not publicly provided a complete description of this case as well as the party designated as a suspect.

Because, according to the provisions during the leadership of Firli Bahuri, cs, the announcement of the suspect will be made when KPK investigators have made attempts to force the arrest or detention of the suspect.
