Firli Bahuri's Camp Regarding Polda Metro Has 4 Evidences: Has Nothing To Do With Extortion

JAKARTA - Kubu Firli Bahuri said that the four pieces of evidence owned by Polda Metro Jaya had nothing to do with or corroborate the alleged extortion of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL.

It is known that Polda Metro Jaya had stated that it had evidence regarding the handover of money from SYL to Firli Bahuri worth Rp1.3 billion.

"If we trace the four pieces of evidence in the form of foreign exchange receipts, what is the relation between foreign exchange receipts and extortion charges? Nothing," said Firli Bahuri, Ian Iskandar, attorney to VOI, Wednesday, July 3.

In addition, during the trial, SYL conveyed that the handover of the money was not based on extortion. However, based on the reasons of friendship.

"What's even strangeer is that if they accuse them of extorting, Mr. SYL as the victim's witness accuses of extorting, why did he say in the trial he gave it because of the friendship factor? In the end, they themselves denied it," he explained.

Therefore, on that basis, Ian requested that Polda Metro Jaya investigators immediately issue a warrant to terminate the investigation or SP3. Where, one of the reasons is the incomplete evidence.

Previously, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, said that the investigation team already had four pieces of evidence regarding the handover of money from SYL Firli Bahuri amounting to Rp1.3 billion.

"What is clear is that at least 2 pieces of evidence, in this case 4 pieces of evidence in handling the a quo case have been obtained by Corruption Investigators at the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya," said Ade.

The handover of the money is said to have taken place in two locations. Of course, with a different nominal at each handover.

"It was handed over in 2 handovers at 2 crime scenes," said Ade.

Referring to the facts of the trial of the alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities that made SYL a defendant, one of the handovers of money was carried out at Gor Badminto in the Central Jakarta area.
