JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas said that so far there have been a number of formations for prospective civil servants (CPNS) specifically to work in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN). The government opened vacancies for formations of 130,341 in ministries and institutions.

This was conveyed by Azwar after attending a limited meeting with President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, discussing the transfer of ASN to IKN.

"Regarding the procurement of CPNS specifically for IKN in 2024, we would like to convey that until now there have been formations of 130,341 in central government agencies, in which there will be 600 formations for the IKN Authority, then 40,021 formations for ministries/institutions that will be in IKN," explained Azwar, Monday, July 1.

He conveyed that in 40,021 CPNS formations for ministries/agencies at IKN, the government provided affirmations of 5 percent specifically for the son/daughter of Kalimantan.

"So it was decided that for the initial stage there would be a 5 percent affirmation for the best son/daughter of Kalimantan, to be part of the 40 thousand ASN formations that will be opened in July-August. This means that there are the 2,000 best sons/daughters of Kalimantan who are given affirmation space in the fresh graduate formation at IKN," said Azwar.

In addition to allocating special CPNS formations for IKN, the government is also preparing a scenario for the gradual transfer of ASN from Jakarta to IKN, and will transfer civil servants from local governments around IKN.

According to Azwar, the transfer of civil servants from the local government will go through competitive open selection.

"This is so that those who move or transfer from local governments around Kalimantan also consist of high-quality ASN, digital talent, multitasking, who can provide services digitally and according to the standards of the Electronic-Based Government System," he explained.
