KPK Regarding PDIP Kubu Lawsuit Due To Confiscation To South Jakarta District Court: Please, We Are Open To Corrections

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) does not care about the lawsuit filed at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) regarding the confiscation of records and cellphones belonging to the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto. Instead, they invited and called this effort a form of correction.

This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika in response to Ronny Talapessy's lawsuit, who is a lawyer for staff of the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, Kusnadi to the South Jakarta District Court on Monday, July 1. He said the party who objected to handling a case was invited to sue or carry out the mechanism according to the rules.

"We are also open to corrections and invite if there are complaints or lawsuits from parties who feel that the investigator's actions are not proper or exceed the authority to use the existing official channels and channels," Tessa told reporters in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, July 2.

Even so, Tessa believes investigators have worked according to the rules. It is impossible for these forced attempts to be carried out for no apparent reason.

"We believe our investigators are professional in their duties," he said.

As previously reported, the PDIP camp sued Rossa Purbo Bekti, who is a KPK investigator, to the South Jakarta District Court (PN). They urged the notebook and cellphone of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who was confiscated from his staff, Kusnadi, to be returned because it had nothing to do with the Harun Masiku case.

"My friends and the legal aid agency and advocacy of representatives from DKI and also Banten and other regional areas will follow, we are registering a lawsuit related to the confiscation of party-owned books," Ronny told reporters at the South Jakarta District Court.

Ronny said this lawsuit was based on the aspirations of party cadres bearing the bull symbol. "Once again, I need to underline here that the party book or the confiscated cellphone has nothing to do with Harun masiku," he said.

"The confiscated party book is related to the political strategy of the PDI-P related to winning the upcoming regional elections and also related to the party's muruah, party sovereignty where we objected when the book was taken," explained the lawyer who is also a party cadre bearing the bull symbol.

The investigators confiscated Hasto's belongings on Monday, June 10. At that time, investigators asked for information regarding Harun Masiku's escape.

Harun has now been a fugitive for four years. This escape was carried out after being named a suspect in the bribery of former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to serve as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives through the interim replacement mechanism (PAW).
