Anies-Andika Duet Opportunities In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election, Cak Imin: Do PDIP Want Or Not?

JAKARTA - PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or familiarly called Cak Imin admitted that he had established communication with PDIP DPP chairman Said Abdullah regarding the discussion of the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Cak Imin revealed that one of his discussions was regarding the opportunity for Anies Baswedan's duet with the former TNI Commander General (Ret.) Andika Perkasa as a candidate for governor and deputy governor of the Jakarta gubernatorial election from PKB and PDIP.

"Yes, we communicated, I communicated with Pak Said. Still matching the survey results, still matching each other's potential," he told the media crew at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, July 1.

Nevertheless, Cak Imin said that the Anies-Andika duet in the Jakarta gubernatorial election was still exploring and depended on the willingness of the PDIP. When asked whether PDIP was the decision to make the duet, Cak Imin agreed.

"Yes, I don't know yet, whether PDIP wants it or not? All options are discussed," he said.

He asked all parties to wait because any possibility could still occur regarding the prospective Jakarta governor candidate from the PKB and is currently in the process of being discussed.

"Still discussing, not yet, there are still several alternatives," he said.

Cak Imin also revealed that Anies Baswedan was indeed the strongest candidate carried by PKB in a political battle in Jakarta.

"We are waiting for the process. If PKB DKI asks Anies, of course we will consider it. We will still check who the deputy is," he said.
