KPK Searched West Bandung Regent's Office Aa Umbara

JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators conducted searches in three locations in West Bandung Regency, West Java.

The search was carried out after the KPK conducted an investigation into allegations of corruption in the procurement of emergency response items for the COVID-19 pandemic disaster at the West Bandung Regency Social Service.

"It is true, the KPK investigating team conducted searches at three different locations in West Bandung Regency," said Acting KPK spokesman for the prosecution Ali Fikri in a written statement, Tuesday, March 16.

The three places that were ransacked by KPK investigators were the office of Regent Aa Umbari and two private residences, one of which was Aa Umbari's house.

Previously reported, the KPK was investigating the alleged corruption case at the West Bandung Social Service. This investigation was carried out in relation to allegations of corruption in the procurement of emergency response goods for the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in 2020.

However, the KPK has not publicly provided a complete description of this case as well as the party designated as a suspect.

Because, according to the provisions during the leadership of Firli Bahuri, cs, the announcement of the suspect will be made when KPK investigators have made attempts to force the arrest or detention of the suspect.

In addition, the suspect's announcement and case construction have not been announced because investigators are still completing their work.
