Airlangga: July, Golkar Decides Ridwan Kamil To Advance In The West Java Or Jakarta Regional Head Election

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that his party will decide the Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party Ridwan Kamil to run in the West Java (West Java) Pilkada or Jakarta in July 2024. Golkar will continue to observe the political dynamics in the Jakarta and West Java regional elections.

"So according to what we have agreed, we will continue to evaluate until July," said Airlangga after performing the Eid prayer at the Ainul Hikmah Mosque, Golkar Party DPP, Palmerah, West Jakarta, Monday 17 June.

Airlangga said the Golkar Party had provided two recommendations to Ridwan Kamil, namely advancing in the Jakarta Pilkada and West Java Pilkada. According to him, the final decision will depend on a number of factors including the survey results.

"Of course we will evaluate who is advancing and so on, we are waiting for the survey too," said Airlangga.

Airlangga emphasized that there is no term political victim in determining the figures who will advance in the 2024 Pilkada. Including, he said, Ridwan Kamil is not a political victim if it is decided to run in the Jakarta Pilkada or vice versa to run in the West Java Pilkada.

"Earlier I said, there were no victims in politics, so it was safe," concluded Airlangga.

It is known that Ridwan Kamil is one of the strongest gubernatorial candidates for the Jakarta and West Java Pilkada. The Advanced Indonesia Coalition Party (KIM) is said to have agreed to carry Ridwan Kamil in the Jakarta Pilkada. However, the Golkar Party still provides an option for Ridwan Kamil to run in the Jakarta Pilkada and West Java Pilkada.
