Democrat: Anies Baswedan Not Entering Jakarta Cagub Radar

JAKARTA - The Democrat Party stated that Anies Baswedan was not on its radar to be promoted as a Candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

In fact, Anies' name was never mentioned when discussing the figure to be selected to 'fight' in the Pilgub contestation.

"Until today it has not entered, until today it has not been on the radar, we do not see the list of names proposed by friends in the structural Democrats," said Democratic Party Spokesperson Herzaky Mahendra Putra to reporters, Thursday, June 13.

Democrats, said Herzaky, have not yet determined who will be promoted. Because, until now, we are still observing the right person to be supported as the Governor of DKI Jakarta.

"We also have a context today to see which ones are right on chemistry, we want leaders with integrity, who can be trusted," he said.

On the other hand, the Democrats are currently working on a figure who will be pushed or proposed to become a candidate for deputy governor (cawagub). So far, there are several names, one of which is Mujiyono.

"Yes, currently the Democrats are focused on exploring and are in the process of how to get our cadres from within the Democrats to become cawagub," said Herzaky.

For information, Anies Baswedan received the support of the DKI Jakarta National Awakening Party (PKB) to be promoted as a candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta.

In addition, PDIP is also said to support Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Pilkada contestation.
